Editorial Review for Virginia Beach Boardwalk – by Lori Surago Logan

The Scene
Overlooking miles of sandy golden beach and crashing ocean waves, the boardwalk buzzes with the daytime energy of families, sun worshippers, surfers, skaters and cyclists. When the sun goes down, it heats up with the electricity of barhoppers, concertgoers and other nocturnal thrill seekers.

The Appeal
Among the boardwalk's diverse assortment of restaurants and pubs, you'll find burger joints, diners, haute cuisine--and everything in between. For a workout or a relaxing cruise, the bike paths are always popular and rental stands line the boardwalk offering beach cruisers, tandems and family-capacity four-wheel cycles. Street performers, puppeteers, musicians, magicians and various performers are always on hand providing free entertainment. Have an itch to spend? Atlantic Avenue runs parallel to the boardwalk and is laden with souvenir stores, surf shops and boutiques.

A lot of changes for the Boardwalk. Entertainment during summer weekends on Atlantic Avenue. Lots of things for the whole family. The Boardwalk has been made more attractive every year. Also, more beach this year.

Pros: More beach, Lots to do

Cons: Crowded, Parking a problem

I like the boardwalk, it's a great place to be for a little money. Being local, I like using it for exercise and to see the variety of people that are there any time of the day. It's the greatest thing this city has to offer for very little money.
