Editorial Review for Ten Top – by Citysearch Staff
In Short
Size dictates that most of Ten Top's customers come for takeout, but this endearing little spot off Colley Avenue--with a mere four tables--has a fairly diverse menu with plenty of sandwiches and entrees, many geared towards vegetarians. Akin to a dried goods store with its sundry sacks stacked to the side, this retail restaurant exudes a decidedly bohemian flavor, thanks to the boldly rendered caricatures on the walls.

I saw this restaurant righ here on Citysearch and took a look at their website. Their menu looked so good, I couldn't decide what to order. I tried the chicken, spinach and feta flatbread pizza, and it was the best I've ever had (and being military, I've had lots of pizza from all over the place!). The all-white meat chicken was tender and flavorful with the perfect balance of spinach to chicken, and lots of yummy, tangy feta and mozarella cheeses. Crust was nice and thin and lightly crispy and not loaded with grease. I've gone back a couple times already and tried the turkey and spinach grilled cheese and the roasted mushroom wrap, all very delicious. I've decided to try something new each time while I'm here. The restaurant is small and it's not for fancy dinner parties, but definitely great for picking up picnic food or enjoying a good meal. Oh, and very vegetarian friendly.
Pros: Great food and prices, abundant vegetarian options
Cons: More for casual dining, very few tables

If your looking for great food at a reasonable price this is the SPOT! My boyfriend and I went here on my last visit and were very impressed. It is rare to get food like this in Norfolk. The quality is great and everything is very fresh, made to order not premade. The service was wonderful as well. Cute and kitchy. He had the Greek Lamb Hogie and I had the Warm Goat Cheese and Walnut salad. We started with the Hummus which was spiked with sweet Curry. I am a vegetarian and I was actually licking the sauce from his sandwich off of his fingers! Everything we ate was amazing! We brought the Hummus back to the hotel and his Navy buddies (whom do not like curry) ate it up! We will be going back when he gets back from his tour.
Pros: Food is wonderfully fresh and unique.
Cons: Parking is limited.
