Editorial Review for Todd Jurich's Bistro – by Steve Rocca
The Scene
Sparse and quiet at 6pm, this bistro hits its stride two hours later. The once-quiet booths overlooking downtown's Waterside become hard to come by; the more popular booths near the open kitchen, nearly impossible. (These latter seats are perfectly situated for people-watching because they provide a view of the entire restaurant.) A small bar off to the left is standing-room only after work, although 18-foot ceilings help dissipate the noise of the various conversations.
The Food
The seafood dishes are top notch. Appetizers--like the famous oyster stew, or the lighter but no less rewarding scallops with fresh basil--set up expectations more than met by main courses like a crab-topped filet of flounder happily settled on a bed of polenta and collard greens. Australian venison steak or the roast leg of Colorado lamb are worthy diversions. The homemade ice creams, especially the creamy macadamia nut, can follow any entree smoothly.

WOW! By far the best meal and service that I have ever experienced! The wait staff was so attentive, knowledgeable, and professional that you knew you were in good hands the second you walked in the door. If our personal waiter was occupied and could not attend to us right away there were plenty of other waiters that asked if we needed anything and if our meal was ok. It was as if every waiter cared about every customer in the restaurant. I do not even know where to start with the food. I had Lobster and it melted in my mouth. My date had steak and he said that it was the best piece of meat he had ever eaten. We were a little shocked and excited when Todd himself, in his messy chef uniform and looking as if he had been working all night, came out and milled around a bit greeting people. It was great to see that much dedication on something as mundane as a Tuesday night. The prices are nothing to laugh at if you are not swimming in money, which we are not. Expect to open your wallet a little and see your spouse cringe at the bill but it is worth every penny. If you are looking for a high quality dining experience, not just a meal, then this is the place for you!
Pros: Service, ambiance, quality…Everything!!!
Cons: Gets you in the wallet.

Todd Jurich's Bistro is absolutely GREAT!!! The Staff is very attentive and they all have positive attitudes that allow one to enjoy the night and not be distracted by looking for wait staff to do the basics like top off water or tea. The food is magnificant! The restaurant also has a delightfully romantic ambiance. You will "pay" for what you get, so get over it and enjoy the night. What's a buck 20 these days for a special person or occassion? My date's 45th birthday dinner at Todd Jurich's was a complete and total joyful success. Mr Jurich and staff, thank you for such a wonderful evening, Salt & Pepper Jr. Stone Mountain, GA
Pros: Valet Parking, downtown location, friendly staff, very good food,
Cons: a bit expensive
