First, they sold me a cap for my system, telling me the usual BS about how I need it for the amps to get constant power and for the vehicle's electrical system. Never mind the fact the amps I bought from them were JL, which are regulated, meaning they provide the same power no matter how much voltage you feed them, and a cap doesn't really do anything for them. As for the vehicle's electrical system, they didn't even bother recommend I see if I needed it first, they were just interested in getting as much money as they could out of me. Turns out, I pulled the cap out a few years later and ran without it for another couple years or so without any issues. Second, I initially bought a JL 12W0 sub from them, which I very quickly realized wasn't enough for me, so I brought it back and they let me pay the difference to upgrade to the W3. At first, I thought they were being really helpful by allowing me to do this. Unfortunately, they didn't bother to tell me the box volume requirements for the W3 are larger than for the W0, and this caused the sub to operate with some distortion, which eventually led to it blowing and needing to be replaced. Also, they hooked me up with a 2 channel standard amp (JL 300/2) to power the sub, instead of a monoblock amp like they should have. This caused the amp to eventually die, because it was being operated in a manner it wasn't designed for. I had to pay about $80 out of pocket to repair it, then I paid the difference at another shop here in Michigan to upgrade to the JL 250/1 amp, which has worked flawlessly ever since. Also, when the 300/2 died, it took the W3 with it, so not only did I have to pay for the amp, but to replace the sub. Finally, when I pulled all the audio equipment out of my car to trade it in on a new one recently, I got a real good look for the first time at the workmanship that went into the installation. Quite simply, I was extremely unimpressed, and would never allow them to touch my car again.
