**Left my dog at Bayside kennel while I was on vacation for 9 days (3rd time using this kennel, but other times were only short weekend visits). **I was not called while I was away though I was readily available at the number I left with them. **When I returned I could clearly see my dog had lost weight & when I put his collar on him it fell right off. ** He was weighed when I dropped him off and I weighed him again at pick up and the difference was 7lbs. **The kennel claimed not to have noticed which is not what I expect from a kennel that advertises "One-on-One Personal Attention" nor is it what I expect from a "Veterinarian Owned and Operated " kennel which is what is advertised on one part of the website, but then another part it states the vet owns it but someone else operates it. **The kennel told me he was "extremely active" while he was there and that's what probably caused him to lose weight (this dog jogs regularly alongside my bike for exercise at home). **I understand dogs can get stressed while at a kennel, I understand they sometimes do not eat (I was informed in this case he ate all his food at every feeding), I understand weight-loss sometimes happens - but when it does, those dogs that lose weight need special attention. What upset me so much was no one there noticed he had lost 7 lbs in 9 days. **One reason I was given for possibly no one noticing was his "long hair." My dog is a German Shepherd, his hair a bit long, but we are not talking about a Sheepdog. His ribs were very noticeable. The weight loss was very noticeable not only to myself, but to others who saw him after I brought him home as well. **Two good things I can report: 1) They did refund all of my boarding fees & extra playtime fees. 2) My dog is regaining weight since I have had him home.
Pros: Got a full refund of boarding fees

I have a dog and a cat and have tried a couple different boarding facilites and I love this place! I don't worry about leaving my animals there because I know the staff will take good care of them. They are always so friendly and helpful (and so is the vet next door). I tell everyone I know about this place.
Pros: Friendly staff, not stuck in a cage
Cons: Not enough Sunday hours
